Painting on doctor's prescription in Medical centre in Nieuwegein
“Painting and doing exhibitions, and enjoy it as much as possible.“ That was on the prescription I received from my doctor a few years ago when I was unable to work for a while. This made such an impression on me that I took the initiative to make it possible for everyone. In De Componist medical centre I organize the creative painting activity on prescription. It is possible to obtain this non-medical prescription through De Componist’s medical centre provider in Nieuwegein.
I would like to share my experience with the prescription I received from my doctor to anyone who needs it. This is how the desire was born to make this possible for others. But how do you achieve that? During the corona Lockdowns, I looked for the right authorities to draw attention to the plan and make it feasible. The idea was approved by the healthcare providers of Movactor, De Componist, Geinsgeluk and Gea van Andel, project leader; Maximaal Gezond Nieuwegein.
There is a lot of pressure on all healthcare, the medical model alone is not enough anymore. Of course, a medical problem needs to be solved, but its about taking a broader view into perspective.
Tools:
I am not a therapist and I do not teach during these afternoons. I do provide some tools or techniques. But for the rest, you can follow your own path. You participate a few times because it is not a painting club. Its not about what you paint: It is all about relaxing and being creative. If you like it, I will give you tips on how you can continue painting at home or at a painting club.
The activity is on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (in every uneven week.)
Participation is possible for all residents of Nieuwegein, a referral from your doctor is not needed. All the necessary materials are available. The costs for participation are €7.50/50% discount on presentation of the city pass.
